The hospital as a good neighbor

Children's is dedicated to being a good neighbor to the communities surrounding its main campus: Fenway, Mission Hill, Roxbury and Jamaica Plain. Many of the hospital's community health programs and partnerships focus on these communities.

Examples of the hospital's efforts to be a good neighbor include:

• providing support to local organizations striving for improved child health through sponsorships of programs and events;
• working with a coalition of community health centers, public housing developments and community residents to address the problem of youth violence;
• and supporting the development and maintenance of open space in the local community as well as efforts to maintain and improve the condition of the Longwood Medical and Academic Area (LMA).
