Overview
Feeding of your baby appropriately during the first year of life is extremely important, as more growth occurs during your baby’s first year than at any other time in her life. Starting good eating habits at this early stage will help set healthful eating patterns for life.
- For the first few months, breast milk or formula is all that is needed.
- Your baby's physician can advise you on how to wean your baby off the bottle.
- Solid foods shouldn’t be started before your child is 4 months old.
- When your child does move on to solid foods, offering a wide variety of foods early will pave the way for good eating habits later.
