Lying and stealing

When your child is young and doesn’t know any better, lying and stealing is par for the course. He does it for a variety of reasons, but for the most part, he just doesn’t realize the difference between right and wrong. This is why it’s so important for you to set a positive example at home early on to prevent your child from continuing to lie and steal as he grows up.

• more common in boys than girls
• often seen in children between ages 5 to 8 years
• in older kids and teenagers can indicate more serious psychological problems
