Overview
During this hearing test, your child raises her hand, or pushes a button, when she hears a tone. Thresholds of detection for six frequencies in each ear are measured, through earphones. If your child does have hearing loss, the test is repeated through a bone conduction oscillator to determine whether the loss affects the outer, middle, or inner ear. This test is usually performed on children 5 years old and up.
