Signs and symptoms of eye problems
Paying careful attention to your child’s physical appearance and behavioral changes, and listening to complaints from your child can assist in the early detection and treatment of eye disorders.
- Often parents, grandparents or caregivers are the first to detect problems.
- Symptoms to watch for include reports of blurred or double vision; redness or swelling of the eyes; excessive tearing or drainage; or crossed eyes.
- Children may also report having trouble reading, seeing in class or performing close-up tasks.
