Overview
Paying careful attention to your child’s physical appearance and behavioral changes, and listening to complaints from your child can assist in the early detection and treatment of eye disorders.
- Often parents, grandparents or caregivers are the first to detect problems.
- Symptoms to watch for include reports of blurred or double vision; redness or swelling of the eyes; excessive tearing or drainage; or crossed eyes.
- Children may also report having trouble reading, seeing in class or performing close-up tasks.
