Here at the Center for Congenital Anomalies of the Reproductive Tract, we work with females up to age 22 who are born with abnormalities of the reproductive organs. Our mission is to provide services that include accurate diagnosis, high-quality treatment, and caring guidance to your whole family.

Our focus is multidisciplinary and includes services in gynecology, radiology, maternal-fetal medicine, nursing, and social work. We also work with fertility specialists. Ensuring or preserving a reproductive future for your daughter is a top priority of the physicians at Boston Children's.

Our expertise congenital anomalies of the reproductive tract

The Center for Congenital Abnormalities of the Reproductive Tract at Boston Children's Hospital provides medical, surgical, obstetrical, and psychosocial consultation and care to girls, adolescents, and adult women, from birth to age 22, with congenital or acquired structural abnormalities of the reproductive tract.

The Center for Young Women's Health at Boston Children's also provides a wealth of support and information to teen girls dealing with issues like vaginal agenesis or Mayer-von-Rokitansky-Kuster-Haüser's Syndrome (MRKH).

Your first visit

An initial consultation is arranged with Marc R. Laufer, MD, who is a world recognized specialist in the area of congenital anomalies (birth defects) of the reproductive tract. After the initial consultation with Dr. Laufer, a treatment plan will be created and appropriate appointments with other specialists will be arranged.
