Office of Fellowship Training
Job Talk Practices
The Office of Fellowship Training (OFT) sponsors this event during which postdocs who are currently in the job market, will present his/her job talk (one at a time) to 1-3 faculty members with an audience of their peers. The focus may be academic or industry. After the postdoc presentation/s, the faculty member/s give critique on the talk, acknowledging the positive aspects and suggesting areas that might benefit from changes. The field of the evaluator and presenter need not be the same, as the critique will be based on presentation skills rather than content area.
