About the General Orthopedic Program

The Orthopedic Center's General Orthopedic Program is known as the premier center for the care of adolescents with a wide range of developmental, congenital, neuromuscular, and post traumatic problems of the musculoskeletal system.

Our staff is made up of a multi-disciplinary team of orthopedic specialists led by 28 fellowship-trained, board-certified pediatric orthopedic surgeons.

Established in 1903, we are one of the world’s most experienced pediatric orthopedic programs, and with thirteen specialty clinics, we are the largest in the country. We’re also one of the busiest. Each year, our orthopedic team attends to about 92,000 patient visits and conducts about 6,000 surgeries.

In 2010 and 2011, we were ranked #1 in the category of pediatric orthopedics by U.S.News & World Report and in 2009, we were ranked #1 in pediatric orthopedics by Parents Magazine. Yet, while our treatments and innovations have greatly evolved over the past century, our philosophy remains the same: to constantly provide the best orthopedic care and service possible in order to improve the quality of life for our patients.

Our services includes:

  • consultation
  • comprehensive evaluation
  • surgical care: invasive and minimally invasive
  • casting
  • orthotic management
  • prosthetic treatment
