About us
Our expertise
Children’s Hospital Boston’s Craniofacial Anomalies Program treats children with a variety of congenital and acquired deformities. Our Cleft Lip and Palate Program, for example, is one of the largest and most well-known of its kind anywhere in the world.
Some of the congenital anomalies we treat include:
- cleft lip
- cleft palate
- craniosynostosis
- hemifacial microsomias
- hemangiomas
- plagiocephaly
- vascular malformations
Our Craniofacial Anomalies Program clinicians are engaged in research that holds great promise for improving the diagnosis and treatment of deformities that affect the head and facial bones. Some of our current research projects include:
- evaluating facial growth in children with various craniofacial anomalies
- determining the molecular causes of craniofacial and vascular anomalies
- improvement of long-term outcomes for children suffering from head trauma
