Interdisciplinary collaboration

Our open, collegial relationships with other Children’s Hospital departments leads to ready collaboration, promoting innovative uses of safe sonographic techniques, such as:

  • The use of color and waveform Doppler to study intracranial cerebrospinal fluid dynamics through the Neurodynamics Program, lead by Joseph Madsen, MD.
  • Transcranial Doppler screening of patients with sickle cell disease, participating in the ongoing multi-institutional TWiTCH study organized through Matthew Heeney, MD, director of the Sickle Cell Disease Program.
  • Soft tissue volume analysis of breast tissue in conjunction with the Adolescent Breast Clinic Registry, lead by Brian Labow, MD, pediatric plastic surgeon.
