Clinical Department

Genetics

Training

Both the Clinical Genetics Program and the Division of Genetics participate in the Harvard Medical School Genetics Training Program, providing post-graduate training in clinical genetics. The training program options are intended for candidates who already have an advanced degree (MD or PhD) and include:

  • Clinical Genetics
  • Clinical Biochemical Genetics
  • Clinical Cytogenetics
  • Clinical Molecular Genetics
  • PhD Medical Genetics

Each of these five programs functions independently, but with shared didactic teaching and research opportunities.

Additionally, the Clinical Genetics Program and the Division of Genetics are affiliated with the Brandeis University Genetic Counseling Program. Genetic counseling students are able to observe genetic counselors in clinical and research roles at the hospital. Students can also complete their pediatric clinical internship in the Clinical Genetics Program.
