MEHC names new clinical director of Pediatrics
We are pleased to announce that Alexandra Epee-Bounya, MD has been named the new clinical director of Pediatrics at Martha Eliot Health Center (MEHC).
Dr. Epee-Bounya, who has worked at MEHC since 2005, has been serving as the assistant director of Pediatrics for the past year. In that capacity, she has worked to improve patient care, and has played an instrumental role in identifying and securing grants to support the department. She has spearheaded the effort to arrange educational seminars for health center staff on a wide variety of medical topics, inviting speakers and securing continuing education credits. She is also a member of the Quality Improvement and Exceptional Care Exceptional Service committees. Her leadership role on the Workplace of Choice committee helped MEHC achieve the greatest improvement in employee satisfaction of any department at Children’s Hospital Boston.
Dr. Epee-Bounya did her undergraduate work at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science, graduating magna cum laude, and attended George Washington University Medical School. After completing her pediatric residency at the Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., she worked for a year as an attending in their Emergency Department before joining the staff of the Department of Emergency Services at Children’s from 2001 to 2005.
Dr. Epee-Bouna is a talented, compassionate clinician who is devoted to her patients, to the community and to MEHC. We are certain that the pediatric department will flourish under her leadership.
