Cerebrovascular Disorders and Stroke Program
Pediatric Stroke and Cerebrovascular Disorders Fellowship
The Cerebrovascular Disorders and Stroke (CVD and Stroke) Program at Boston Children's Hospital invites applications from candidates interested in dedicated training in pediatric stroke and cerebrovascular disorders.
Our program brings together expertise related to cerebrovascular disease and stroke in children from child neurology, neurosurgery, hematology, neuroradiology, neurointerventional radiology, emergency medicine and physical/occupational therapies.
The fellowship program comprises a year of clinical training in pediatric stroke and cerebrovascular disorders with an option for an additional year organized around a clinical research project with limited continuing clinical responsibility. The selected candidate will have appointments as a Clinical Fellow in Neurology at Boston Children's Hospital and Harvard Medical School.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing direct patient care for all consults and in-patient admissions related to pediatric stroke
- Serving as a consult for all medical subspecialties at the hospital, including the medical-surgical, cardiac and neonatal intensive care units at Children's and the neonatal intensive care units at the adjacent Brigham and Women's Hospital and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center
- Participating at weekly outpatient clinic
- Serving as night-call for urgent matters
Applicants should be fully trained in Child Neurology by the time s/he begins the program. Competence in English is required.
