Melody Valve

		Catheter Placement of Medtronic Melody Pulmonary Valve. Currently, pulmonary valve replacements are done surgically. However, we are now using other methods to minimize the need for repeat operations in patients with pulmonary valve disease. These images represent placement of a Melody pulmonary valve in the heart catheterization lab. This first image shows the inital angiogram of a pateint with severe pulmonary stenosis and insufficiency.

		This second image shows the implantation of the valve after the outflow tract has been dilated.

		Here, the new Melody Pulmonary Valve is shown in place and working perfectly. Generally these patient go home within two days
