By providing timely care, we reduce waiting times and other delays that can be harmful to both those receiving care and those providing it.  Some examples of timeliness measures include:

• Reducing emergency room lengths of stay to ensure that children do not remain in busy and chaotic ERs any longer than is necessary.
   
• Immunizing children according to the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics to help protect children from common infections that can lead to serious and even life-threatening complications.
