Children's Hospital Boston has again been listed as one of the top pediatric hospitals in the country, according to U.S.News & World Report. The July 18 America's Best Hospitals issue relied on surveys of physicians nationwide to determine the rankings. Children's has ranked as one of the top two pediatric hospitals in national surveys for 16 straight years. This year, Children's is ranked second nationally and remains the number one pediatric hospital in New England. The hospital's reputational score was 47.2 percent.
"The results of this survey are a testament to the incredible dedication and work done by the caregivers, employees and volunteers of Children's Hospital Boston," said Dr. James Mandell, president and CEO of Children's. "We are honored to be recognized by physicians throughout the country, and know that, with the opening of our new clinical building expansion this summer, our ability to provide the best and safest pediatric health care will only grow."
According to U.S. News, the purpose of the "America's Best Hospitals" issue is to assist consumers in identifying medical institutions known to demonstrate the highest level of expertise in diagnosing, treating, or managing difficult medical conditions.
