Red Sox ace Josh Beckett visits Children's

April 23, 2008

ImageChildren's patient Mitchell DuBuc interviews Josh BeckettRed Sox pitching ace Josh Beckett made the media rounds April 23 and was grilled by one tough reporter: Children's Hospital Boston patient Mitchell DuBuc.

Beckett stopped by Children's to visit hematology/oncology patients and donate proceeds from his fundraising event, the Beckett Bowl. During his visit, Beckett was interviewed for the hospital's internal Mid-week Morning show.

The Sox pitcher has been a generous supporter of Children's, and once again plans to donate proceeds of his bowling event and auction to the hospital.

The 2008 event is scheduled for Thursday, July 10, and is hosted by the Josh Beckett Foundation.

Last year, Beckett gathered an all-star lineup including teammates David Ortiz, Jason Varitek, Jonathan Papelbon, John Lester and Julio Lugo; New England Patriots Kevin Faulk, Vince Wilfork and Randy Moss; Celtics Paul Pierce; and actors Dane Cook and Jason Biggs. The event generated a $100,000 donation to Children's through sponsorship sales and an auction, with one-of-a-kind items such as an all-expense-paid quail hunt on Beckett's Texas ranch.

This year's event will be just as big when the stars align at the Town Line Ten Pin in Malden. Now, add your star to the line up.

Sponsorship packages serve as perfect networking opportunities, with bowler credentials to bowl with a celebrity guest--right in your lane, guest passes, additional passes to the after-party, and more. Sponsorship levels begin at $10,000. Visit www.beckettbowl.com for more information.
