Dr. Lebel is a pediatric neurologist and pain management specialist with a research interest in neuropathic pain disorders and headache.

Her career has been focused on the study and treatment of pediatric pain and disability, including work with cancer pain, neuropathy and neuralgia, and headache. Over the past several years, she has been working with a team of neuroscientists exploring cerebral and brainstem mechanisms which modulate clinical pain syndromes, using functional MRI scanning. She and other researchers recently received a 5-year grant from the NIH to study pediatric patients with intractable limb pain. She is also investigating central neuronal processes in pediatric patients with migraine.
