Laboratory Medicine

The Department of Laboratory Medicine consists of four divisions, the Core Laboratory, Infectious Diseases Diagnostic Laboratory, Transfusion Medicine, and Laboratory Support Services, as well as smaller specialty labs.

Research in the laboratories of Orah Platt and Carlo Brugnara has produced landmark discoveries in sickle-cell disease, including suggestions for novel therapies.
