The Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Department is a tertiary care center. Our pediatric orthopedic surgeons regularly treat children with rare and complex cases, and also welcome referrals from around the country and the globe.
Consultations and patient referrals

Online provider portal
Once you’ve referred a patient to us, you can track their care at Boston Children’s through the MyPatients Provider Portal. The Provider Portal is a secure and convenient web-based tool that gives primary care providers and members of a patient’s care team access to:
- Information on scheduled and completed appointments
- Test results
- Clinical notes and discharge summaries
- Problem lists, allergy lists, and medication lists documented in the patient’s Boston Children’s record
Education and training
Boston Children’s is the primary pediatric teaching hospital for Harvard Medical School and our physicians are on the school’s faculty. We offer a variety of training and education opportunities, including fellowships, residencies, and clerkships.
