Emily Pluhar | Professional History
Dr. Pluhar is currently a member of the Division of Sports Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital, and serves as the Director of the Sports Medicine Behavioral Health Team.
Her career is dedicated to supporting the mental and physical health of adolescents and their families through direct patient care, education, research, and program development. She provides evaluation, consultation, and evidence-based care to adolescent and young adult athletes experiencing mental health issues stemming from athletic injuries and the challenges of rehabilitation. Areas of clinical interest include anxiety, depression, injury related trauma, chronic medical illness, and comorbid conditions.
Dr. Pluhar’s research interests include mental health issues related to sports injuries, adolescent health, non-suicidal self-injury, and suicidal behavior.
