Dr. Padwa's ongoing clinical studies focus on evaluating facial growth and optimizing treatment outcomes in children with a broad spectrum of craniofacial anomalies, ranging from rare disorders such as facial infiltrating lipomatosis and cervicofacial lymphatic malformation to more common conditions such as cleft lip/palate and hemifacial microsomia. In addition to clinical and translational projects, Dr. Padwa’s bench research studies investigate the effects of intra-operative graft handling on human bone cell function and characterize the RANKL-mediated response of osteoclast progenitors to autologous growth factors in platelet-rich-plasma. Other research interests include activity-based costing analyses to optimize the quality and minimize the cost of health care services for patients and their families.
Bonnie Padwa received her MD from Harvard Medical School and her DMD from Harvard School of Dental Medicine. She completed her postgraduate training at Children's Hospital Boston, Brigham and Women's Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital.
