New funding opportunities for Metro South West Communities
The Office of Community Health is releasing funding to support community-based projects and programs.
Healthy Communities Initiative
The Metro South West Community Health Initiative’s Healthy Communities will provide up to five years of funding. The funds will support groups working to advance child health equity and improve children’s health through policy, systems, or environmental change in the communities of Brockton, Framingham, Needham, Quincy, Randolph, Waltham, and Weymouth. The deadline for applications is 5 p.m. Friday, June 7.
Metro South West Community Health Initiative
The Metro South West Community Health Initiative (formerly, Route 128 Community Health Initiative) will support underserved children, youth, and families in the communities of Brockton, Framingham, Needham, Quincy, Randolph, Waltham, and Weymouth. The three initiatives are Mental Health and Well-being, Flourishing Families, and Healthy Communities.
A total of $15.1 million will be distributed over the next seven years (2023-29) to organizations in these communities. An initial $7.7 million has now been released for organizations to use over the next three to four years in two key areas: Mental Health and Well-being, and Flourishing Families.
