Current Environment:

The leader in improving child health

Every day, families look to Boston Children's for answers, treatment, and hope. And every day, you inspire us to meet that challenge by seeing beyond the limitations the rest of the world places on what’s possible. You inspire us to believe that we can — and must — do more for every child in our care. Our goal is to always be a leader for your child and for child health everywhere.

To that end, we’re honored that multiple independent organizations continue to recognize our leadership and excellence in pediatric health, some of which are shared here.

Ranked among the best pediatric hospitals in the nation – and the world.

For example, Newsweek recently began ranking what it calls the world’s best specialized hospitals, which includes pediatric hospitals. Boston Children’s has been named Newsweek’s “World’s Best Specialized Hospital” (pediatrics) for 2025, topping the list of 250 children’s hospitals around the globe.

Likewise, in 2011, U.S. News & World Report created its “Best Children’s Hospitals” Pediatric Honor Roll, which lists the top ten highest-ranked hospitals in the nation. This year, as in all years past, Boston Children’s is on that Honor Roll.

Additional accolades

But hospital rankings are just one piece of the puzzle. Other organizations have also recognized Boston Children's as a leader in several different areas.

Magnet Recognition by American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
Boston Children’s Hospital achieved Magnet Recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). We are one of only a handful of hospitals in the country — eight percent — to achieve this status. Magnet status signifies an organization with world-class nursing that provides quality patient care and has a track record of developing innovations that improve professional nursing practice.
LGBTQ Healthcare Equality Leader by HEI
Boston Children's was selected as a Leader in LGBTQ Healthcare Equality by Healthcare Equality Index (HEI). The U.S. health care facilities awarded this title met key criteria, including patient and employee non-discrimination policies that specifically mention sexual orientation and gender identity, a guarantee of equal visitation for same-sex partners and parents, and transgender-inclusive healthcare benefits for employees.
Additional Nursing Awards

Boston Children’s has received a number of other recognitions related to nursing, including:

ANCC Practice Transition Accreditation Program
