Well visits

A well visit is more than a weight check, a sports physical, or a time for shots. It's also an opportunity to ask questions about your child's growth, development, behavior, and general health. During the school years, it is common for us to answer questions about how your child eats, sleeps, learns, and gets along with others. With our older patients, we help foster teens' independence by asking about their health care concerns in a private, safe space. We check up on chronic health issues like asthma and ADHD at well visits too, so you don't have to make an extra trip to our office. Most importantly, a well visit is our chance to learn more about you, your family, and your values. This knowledge helps us all achieve your health care goals as a team.

Well visits typically require no copayment. Always check with your insurance provider to find out whether well visits are covered once per calendar year, or once every 365 days. We keep our schedules open a full year in advance, so you can always book your next physical while at your checkup!

Starting at age 13, your child will spend the 2nd half of their visit alone with their provider. Be sure to review our Adolescent Confidentiality Policy!
16 year Vaccines: Meningococcal ACWY, annual Influenza (September - April)

 17-21 years

Annual well visit and Influenza vaccine are recommended
Discuss need for Meningitis B vaccination before college
Vision and hearing screening at 17 year visit
Non-fasting cholesterol screening at 21 year visit (outside lab)
Recommend referral to GYN at age 21 for female patients

We like seeing patients through their college years, but need to see them every year.
