Amy McCarthy Baluch | Professional History

Amy McCarthy, LICSW, is a Senior Clinical Social Worker at Boston Children's Hospital. Prior to working at BCH, Amy worked in community based settings providing care to young people living with complex mental health needs, and their families. She also was the director of the Boston-Suffolk County Family Resource Center, and worked with community partners to ensure all residents had access to vital resources. Amy has been a member of a number of community coalitions, and believes coordination and collaboration are necessary in the treatment and prevention of negative outcomes for young people.

I believe that interdisciplinary, collaborative care is essential in supporting positive health outcomes for young people. Young people, and those most important to them, should be encouraged to be a part of developing care plans in order to help them achieve their vision and goals. Mental health and wellness is a critical part of every patient's health care.
