Professional History

While working towards my Master of Social Work degree, I had the opportunity to intern at the SPARK Center in Mattapan and also in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Boston Children's. These internships shaped my social work practice through direct patient and family care where I was provided with great resources and phenomenal supervision. I spent time working in Early Intervention prior to making my way back to Boston Children's Hospital and specifically to the CAIR team in 2015.

Meet Jessica McCaig, MSW, LICSW

I found my way into medical social work through volunteer experiences in a variety of hospital settings during and after college. My graduate work afforded me wonderful opportunities that allowed me to find my niche in working with children and families. It is a privilege to work with patients and families supporting them in navigating hospitalizations and chronic illness by supporting them with resources, community programs and unique efforts to lift their spirits. I personally am very invested in improving the quality of life for our patients and families and learning from them to maximize their experience.
