Cullen Carter | Professional History
After attending the University of Virginia School of Medicine, I became a surgical intern and resident at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. I quickly became interested in all aspects of surgery, including general surgery, vascular surgery, pediatric surgery, and trauma surgery. As a senior resident, I was able to participate in a number of complex laparoscopic surgeries including bariatric surgery. After seeing the power of a well-organized and thoughtful bariatric surgery program to so dramatically change a person’s health and life, I decided to pursue further training in advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgery at Wake Forest University.
