Sabrina Barkal | Professional History

Sabrina obtained her Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She continued her education at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL where she obtained her Master's of Science in Speech-Language Pathology. Sabrina completed her post-graduate clinical fellowship at the University of Illinois Carle Foundation Hospital working as a NICU and Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist, specializing in feeding and swallowing disorders. She has continued her passion for inpatient care at Boston Children's Hospital on their Inpatient Feeding & Swallowing Team while also conducting Modified Barium Swallow studies with the inpatient and outpatient pediatric population.

Throughout my education and clinical fellowship, I found a passion for working with infants and children and their families to provide the safest, least restrictive oral feeding plan as possible. I focus on providing evidence-based, family-centered care to all her patients while continuing to integrate a conscious, culturally responsive approach to all my recommendations. I specifically focus on care to the inpatient population which I feel my passion lies in providing encouragement and hope to families while their child is in their most fragile state.
