Children with tuberous sclerosis often need to see several specialists to manage the symptoms and complications of this condition. The Boston Children’s Hospital Tuberous Sclerosis Program brings together the expertise of all of these physicians in one specialized program.

Our depth of experience in tuberous sclerosis

Our team includes pediatric specialists in neurology, epilepsy, neurosurgery, psychiatry, cardiology, nephrology, ophthalmology, dermatology, and genetics. Each member of our team has special expertise in treating children with tuberous sclerosis. We work together to coordinate your child’s care and manage symptoms and prevent complications.

We also work closely with you, knowing your family is a central part of your child’s care team. Our nurse coordinator, licensed genetic counselor, and educational consultant are all available to provide you and your child with extra support. And we can connect you with other parents whose children have tuberous sclerosis through our Family to Family Program.

We’re also actively involved in research to improve the lives of those with tuberous sclerosis. We’re engaged in clinical trials of new drugs, studies of tuberous sclerosis complications, and genetic studies to find DNA abnormalities that may lead to the disease.
