Center for Pain and the Brain PAIN Research Group Research | Overview

Animal fMRI Triangle

Welcome to the Boston Children’s Hospital branch of the Center for Pain and the Brain. Our research group is conducting brain imaging studies in both acute and chronic pain conditions, as well as experimental pain in healthy volunteers. Our translational research program focuses on migraine headaches, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), and post-concussive headaches. We are interested in defining the pain pathways of these conditions to help improve future treatment.

Our multidisciplinary team is comprised of leading pediatric neurologists, physician-scientists, psychologists, and researchers.  The Center for Pain and the Brain also has ongoing studies at McLean Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital.
