Amy Pasternak | Professional History

Amy has been a practicing pediatric physical therapist since 2001, working in several different settings including inpatient rehabilitation, early intervention, school and outpatient rehabilitation. She has been working at Boston Children’s Hospital since 2010, and focuses on clinical leadership, outpatient practice and pediatric neuromuscular practice and research. She is a lead clinical evaluator for several clinical trials involving spinal muscular atrophy, muscular dystrophies and myotubular myopathy. She has a special interest in developing person-reported performance outcome measures, and has published work in this area. Amy is also passionate about student education, and has been the course instructor for the Pediatric Physical Therapy course for the physical therapy program at Boston University since 2009. She also guest lectures for the physical therapy program at Simmons College. Amy received her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from Boston University in 2001, and her Transitional Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Boston University in 2009.
