Priyanshu was diagnosed with double outlet right ventricle (DORV) with hypoplastic (small) ventricle a few months after he was born in 2014. After hospitals in his home country of India declined to treat his son due to the severity of his heart condition, his Father, Sagar, dedicated himself to finding the care Priyanshu needed to survive.
What followed was an international show of support that spanned the globe and brought the family to the Heart Center at Boston Children’s Hospital for the complex atrial switch operation. Today, when children from across the world come through the doors of our hospitals, they are greeted by Priyanshu’s miraculous smile.
