Dr. Dorney's research interests include care of children with cervical spine injuries and other traumatic injuries and medical education. Her recent efforts have been focused on the epidemiology of pediatric trauma and spaced education as an alternative medical education tool.

Katie Dorney received her MD from UMass Medical School. She completed residency and chief residency in Pediatrics at Boston Children’s Hospital, and a fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital. Dr. Dorney joined the faculty of the Division of Emergency Medicine at Children’s Hospital in 2014.
