Cardiac Surgery | AV Canal Repair

At the Benderson Family Heart Center at Boston Children’s Hospital, our cardiac surgery team has treated hundreds of children for atrioventricular canal defect or AV Canal —a combination of problems that create a large defect in the center of a heart. Working with Boston Children’s cardiologists, anesthesiologists, ICU doctors, nurse practitioners, and nurses, we not only repair the AV canal defect but also make good on the hope of extending our patients’ lives.
