Current Environment:

Mira’s health had prevented her from having formative teenage experiences. But after having a liver transplant at 14 to treat sclerosing of the liver, she gained the physical and emotional strength needed to embrace life. Now 20 and in college, she is pursuing a career in politics and advocacy for Black women and the Black community. Mira is grateful for her “family” at the Pediatric Transplant Center at Boston Children’s Hospital for their role in letting her plan for her future.
