If you require medications, vaccinations, or advice prior to traveling abroad, we can most likely provide all the help you need at Needham Pediatrics. We are able to help with prophylaxis and advice for many infections including malaria, typhoid fever, polio, meningococcus, hepatitis A, measles, and traveler's diarrhea.
We encourage you to make an appointment to see your primary care provider or one of our nurse practitioners 1-2 months before your travel begins.
There are some specialized vaccines that we cannot easily obtain at Needham Pediatrics: most notably, yellow fever and Japanese encephalitis virus vaccines. In cases in which these vaccines are indicated, we may suggest you schedule a separate visit to a Travel Clinic. If you are unsure whether we can help, please call and ask to speak to one of our nurses.
