What we offer

The Clinic for interactive Media and Internet Disorders (CIMAID) is a unit within the Adolescent/Young Adult Medicine clinic at Boston Children’s Hospital.

The lab is a multidisciplinary team led by Michael Rich, MD, MPH, and Michael Tsappis, MD. We have been evaluating and treating increasing numbers of children, adolescents, and young adults in our clinic whose excessive online activities have caused problems with sleep, school, social functioning, and various aspects of physical and mental health. Our team can help you address and reduce the negative consequences of Problematic Interactive Media Use (PIMU) and other media-related health disorders from obesity to aggression, while helping the children, adolescents, and young adults in your life adopt and sustain healthy lifestyles and behaviors.

To schedule an appointment, make a referral, and ask questions, please contact the lab by calling 617-355-9447 or emailing cimaid@childrens.harvard.edu

Digital Wellness Lab

The mission of the Digital Wellness Lab at Boston Children’s Hospital is to educate and empower children — and those who care for them — to create and consume media in ways that optimize children’s health and development. We define digital wellness as an intentional state of physical, mental, and social health that occurs with mindful engagement with the digital and natural environment.

Please visit the Digital Wellness Lab website for more information.
