Mission Statement:

The Pediatric Anesthesia Research Center (PARC) is committed to supporting the hospital’s mission for world changing research, one study at a time. We strive to be the leading source of research and discovery for anesthesiology, perioperative and pain medicine. Our work is characterized by the joint values of efficiency, ethics, and excellence.

The goal of the Pediatric Anesthesia Research Center is to provide research infrastructure for clinical investigators from the Department of Anesthesiology, Critical Care and Pain Medicine. The PARC research team consists of registered nurses, clinical research coordinators, statisticians and research administrators. This team has the expertise to help investigators by facilitating day-to-day clinical research endeavors while protecting the rights and welfare of human research subjects. The PARC team has the responsibility to comply with all federal and institutional regulatory and policy requirements. Overview of key responsibilities:

 The PARC also oversees and coordinates the daily activities of the departmental clinical research studies. This includes working closely with the primary investigator and clinical teams to ensure clinical and research care coordination in several locations including: pre-operative clinics, operating rooms, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Intensive Care Units (ICU), Cath Lab and patient floors. The PARC research team strives to deliver excellent patient care in a supportive and efficient environment while concurrently influencing the future development of novel medical treatments.
