Newsroom | The Pediatric Physicians’ Organization at Boston Children’s Hospital names Dr. Margaret Fry as President, Chief Executive Officer

BOSTON, MA — December 1, 2023 — Margaret Fry, MD, will serve as the next President and Chief Executive Officer of the Pediatric Physicians’ Organization at Boston Children’s Hospital (PPOC). Dr. Fry currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer of the PPOC and will assume her new role on January 1, 2024. She succeeds the current President and Chief Executive Officer, Gregory Young, MD, who has led the PPOC for nearly 18 years and will transition into a new role focused on patient care. 

As President and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Fry will be responsible for the leadership, vision, and oversight of the PPOC, a network of physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants who are dedicated to providing pediatric primary care exclusively throughout Massachusetts. Working in collaboration with Boston Children’s Hospital specialists, the PPOC is dedicated to enhancing its members’ ability to deliver accessible, high-quality pediatric care to children and their families.

Since joining the PPOC in 2022, Dr. Fry has fully embraced its mission and developed innovative approaches to supporting practices in their day-to-day work. She has spearheaded multiple priority initiatives such as the POC Integrated Behavioral Health Program, the Clinical Informatics Program, and the Patient-Centered Medical Home Program. In addition, she implemented the PPOC’s practice accountability program and co-created and launched the PPOC’s Autism Collaborative and Learning Community.

As PPOC President and CEO, I look forward to upholding the organization’s mission of strengthening the great work of our member practices,” Dr. Fry said. 

Dr. Fry has over 20 years of clinical and healthcare administration experience. Before joining the PPOC, Dr. Fry held multiple leadership roles with the Palo Alto Foundation Medical Group (PAFMG) in the San Francisco area. She oversaw the pediatric service line and was responsible for all pediatric care delivery for general pediatrics, pediatric specialty care, pediatric hospital medicine, and pediatric urgent care. In addition, Dr. Fry practiced pediatric primary care with PAFMG for 15 years.

Dr. Fry received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan and attended medical school at the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. She completed her residency in pediatrics at Stanford Children's Health.
