Bone-anchored hearing system surgery is generally an outpatient procedure — meaning children can usually go home the same day. And the process typically involves minimal pain and light aftercare, so children are often back to their normal selves just hours afterward. In this video, Dr. Gi Soo Lee, associate in the Department of Otolaryngology and Communication Enhancement at Boston Children’s, discusses what to expect before and after BAHS implant surgery.
