The Program for Language Equity is partnering with the Multilingual Research Justice Collaborative (MRJC) to create grassroot, community-based services for translating and culturally adapting research materials that:
- Facilitate rigorous but feasible multilingual clinical, translational, and health service research
- Ensure fair compensation for multilingual community partners
- Build capacity and trust in multilingual communities
Although our primary focus is on translation and cultural adaptation, additional benefits of this collaborative include improving recruitment and retention, as well as identifying multilingual partners for community-engaged research and patient/family advisory boards. MRJC’s goal is to help all researchers — from clinical and translational researchers to health services researchers — include research participants who speak multiple languages to improve the representativeness, equity, and rigor of their research.
MRJC’s membership includes:
- Linguists
- Interpreters
- Translators
- Patients/families
- Community members
- Advocates
- Healthcare providers across disciplines (from pediatrics to obstetrics and surgery)
- Researchers
Please contact us if you are interested in joining the collaborative or would like to inquire more about MRJC services.
