Boston Children's Neuro-Ophthalmology Service uses both medical and surgical approaches to treat a wide range of eye conditions related to neurological disorders, including:
- Abnormalities in optic nerve development (optic nerve coloboma, optic nerve hypoplasia)
- Brain/intracranial tumors affecting the visual system
- Diplopia (double vision)
- Eye movement disorders/cranial nerve palsies
- Idiopathic intracranial hypertension (pseudotumor cerebri)
- Myasthenia gravis
- Neurofibromatosis
- Nystagmus
- Optic nerve atrophy
- Optic nerve edema/papilledema
- Optic neuritis/multiple sclerosis
- Pupillary abnormalities
- Retinoblastoma
- Other retinal disorders secondary to neurological issues
- Complex strabismus secondary to neurological issues
- Thyroid eye disease
- Visual field defects
