Current Environment:

Brielle Ferguson, PhD, wants to understand what cells in the brain control attention — affecting how we think, plan, and make decisions. She hopes this will open a path to better treatments for disorders that cause cognitive dysfunction. She talks about “zooming in” in science — finding magic in the small details — but also “zooming out” to keep in mind the larger question that’s being asked. A co-founder of Black in Neuro, Ferguson also wants to empower underrepresented minorities in science.
