Because we are committed to the concept of the medical home for our patients, we offer gynecologic care in our office for girls as they move into adolescence. This enables us to provide this specialty service in the same office by the same compassionate health care providers who know your child and their medical history, and it keeps all records in one place: the child’s chart. These services are done in a confidential manner and are typically covered by your insurance.
These services include:
- annual exams (pap smears when needed)
- birth control consultation
- STD testing
- sexual health counseling
When the needs of our patient requires additional consultation, we often refer them to Boston Children’s Hospital to be seen in the Adolescent Medicine or Adolescent Gynecology clinics.
