At Wareham Pediatric Associates we believe it is important to provide support to mothers who choose to breastfeed. To achieve this, we have four nurses available to provide lactation consultation.
Our lactation consultants can meet with families in our office to provide solutions for a wide variety of breastfeeding problems including difficulty with latch, poor milk supply, or breast pain while breastfeeding. They also perform telephone follow up for nursing mothers who require their assistance.
Many mothers also access our lactation consultants during routine health visits to ask breastfeeding questions that arise throughout the first year of life. Last but not least, our lactation consultants can also help breastfeeding mothers gain access to breast pumps that may be provided by health insurance plans.
