The FDA has approved emergency usage of monoclonal antibodies as a treatment for mild to moderate COVID-19 for patients at high risk of progressing to severe disease. They are currently available for 12 years of age and older in patients with certain high risk conditions. If your child is positive for COVID-19 and you think they may qualify, reach out to your primary care provider. A few details to be aware of:
- Treatment must be started within 10 days of onset (ideally the sooner the better)
- Treatment is a one time, outpatient, approximately 3 hour, IV infusion
