New patients
- Getting here: Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your appointment. The traffic and parking in the Longwood Medical Area can sometimes be difficult and take more time than anticipated. Please take this into account when you leave for your visit. Parking is available in the Boston Children's parking garage at a discounted rate with a validated ticket.
- Check-in: When you arrive at the office on the fourth floor of the Farley Building at the Boston Children's Hospital main campus, you will first need to check in at the front desk. There, one of our staff will verify your personal information and collect the copayment for your visit. You will then be asked to complete a short medical history form answering questions about your child's health history.
- Your child's exam: When you are in the exam room, the practice assistant will take your child's height, weight, blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation. One of the nurses or the nurse practitioner may come in and review your child's medical history form with you. Then the nurse practitioner and doctor will see your child. Together the doctor and nurse practitioner will review your history, physical exam, and any diagnostic information to develop the best plan of care for your child.
- Follow-up: After the doctor has seen your child, you may need to stop at the checkout desk to schedule a follow-up appointment. Please do not hesitate to ask one of our staff for assistance or information at any time.
