Exercise programs

The Optimal Wellness for Life (OWL) Program gives children the opportunity to supplement OWL’s multidisciplinary approach in clinic with an ongoing, group-based exercise program in the community.

In collaboration with the Micheli Center for Sports Injury Prevention, these videos offers necessary tools and information to feel comfortable and excel in the gym.

The Boston Children’s fit kit is a collection of evidence-based strategies, tools, and activities to support families who want to develop healthier habits. Our goal is to support many more families to adopt healthy and active lifestyles. The Boston Children’s fit kit offers worksheets, trackers, and more to go with the five key topics. These resources can be downloaded to your computer or mobile device.

OWL on the Water

OWL on the Water helps kids find a love of exercise through sports

OWL on the Water (OOTW) is a unique rowing-based exercise program designed to help kids discover their inner athlete in a supportive team environment. The main goals of OOTW are to foster an enjoyment of exercise while improving fitness and health. We partner with CRI — Community Rowing Inc. — to provide this wonderful opportunity.

Who can participate?

The program is open to 12- to 18-year-olds who are participating in the OWL Program or other affiliated programs at Boston Children’s Hospital. To remain eligible, all participants must be actively participating in the OWL Program or another multidisciplinary program at Boston Children’s Hospital.
