The Ophthalmology Department of Boston Children’s Hospital offers specialized care for children with glaucoma, a condition in which the pressure inside the eye is elevated.

This high pressure can cause damage to the optic nerve and vision loss that may be irreversible if it is not detected and treated early. Treatments focus on reducing the pressure in the eye using medications or surgery.
